Hi!
I've been thinking about this deep cultural programming that tells us creativity needs approval, permission, the right credentials, or at least the right excuse (like "it's therapeutic").

Here's what I know after years of making things: your creativity doesn't need anyone's permission. Not your family's, not the art world's, not society's. It certainly doesn't need to justify itself by being "healing" or "productive" or marketable.

We've been so thoroughly trained to seek permission that we may not even realize we're doing it. We look for the right class, the right tools, the right time, the right reason. We convince ourselves we need to "learn the rules" before we can do anything.

Truth? Every mark you make outside the velvet rope of approved creativity is a small act of rebellion. Every time you create without permission, you're reclaiming something that was always yours.

Studio Outsider Report

To my point: I've been drawing the first elements of what might (or might not) become a fall and Halloween surface pattern collection. Not because anyone commissioned it, not because I researched market demand, but because something in The Creation is calling for spooky autumn imagery to flow through my hands now.

There's something particularly rebellious about creating seasonal work when you feel like it, not when the commercial calendar demands it, because, technically, I’m late on this one! These drawings are emerging from pure creative joy – the dangerous kind that doesn't need to heal anyone or serve any purpose beyond making.

I'll keep sharing these emerging patterns, because part of stepping outside the velvet rope means letting people see the messy, unfinished process of creation in real time.

I Made a Mistake! (and a Fix)

I made a mistake – some of you may have only been able to access the front cover of the Wild Creation Guide instead of the full PDF. I've fixed that now, and here's the correct link to the complete guide.

I'm not perfect (so not perfect LOL), and that's part of the point. Real creativity is messy, flawed, human. My mistake doesn't make the guide less valuable – it makes it more authentic.

What's Calling to Your Creative Spirit?

What would you make if you stopped asking for permission? Click reply and tell me about one creative urge you've been holding back on. I read and reply to every message.

Remember: your creativity is not a privilege to be earned or a skill to be certified. It's your birthright. It's your connection to The Creation itself. And it doesn't need anyone's permission but yours.

Make your Mark!

As always, you’ve heard it over and over, but it really does matter in making sure the messages find their way to you: mark this message as not-promotional, click like, send a reply ( I especially like hearing from you), etc.
