Last weekend's Open Studio was exactly what I had hoped: printing postcards together in real time, the (not too much) messiness of foam blocks and paint, the imperfect beauty of analog making. These side-by-side moments (even if through a screen) are why I do this. More to come!

You don't need permission to create. Not from galleries, not from teachers, not from anyone who's put velvet ropes around what counts as "real" art. Your creative impulse already belongs to you. Inspiration isn't out there waiting to be found - it's in what catches your eye right now and what makes you smile, even one of those little private smiles, actually, especially those. Start there. Don’t wait for approval or perfection, just start with what is your true self.

Foam Block Printing: From Carving to First Print

After last weekend's postcard printing session, a few of you were interested in the foam block carving and printing process. I put together a complete demonstration showing how I carve and print with foam blocks - from design to that first satisfying print.
